I'm starting a new series of conceptual paintings called "Space Pirates", I'm imaging myself doing designs for a sci-fi action film. It just has plenty of different stuff for me to draw, characters and monsters, different environment on several planets and plot illustration. I'm also using this chance to build my new portfolio. This is the first piece of design in this series, a giant monster living on a planet filled with poisoned air and plants. The monster has ability to freeze any kind of living things by the freezing air coming from its mouth. Hope u like it and comments are welcome!

Daily DeviationSpacePirates Monster Design 1 by ~Guesscui is an absolutely outstanding illustration! Wonderful use of colors. The focus of the image is brilliant, the details really draw you in! (Suggested by =MasqueradedSin and Featured by `cosmosue)

Oh wow, I love this dude. Awsome composition, you can really tell this creature is gargantuan! Any puny human explorers had better watch out!

The colour pallet is really nice too. With all the blue-greys and purples, the single yellow eye really catches your attention. You really get the feeling that it's a desolate planet.

Great to see some new stuff! Can't wait to see where this goes!

Me, being a huge nerd, wants to stat this out as a DND monster... :P

And I agree with everything you've said, this piece is amazing.
Did you base this off the space pirates from Metroid?
Thanks! I'll post another piece pretty soon, with humans this time!
Ahh nope, actually it's more like a "space version" of pirates of the Caribbean if you want me to describe it, haha~ :)
Really? It still looks pretty cool :P
Thanks very much! :>
